A UTAH EVERYONE CAN AFFORD – Having struggled with unstable housing, Derek will champion affordable housing, protect SNAP benefits, get money back into the hands of small businesses, and fight for living wages.
STRENGTHENING UTAH’S EDUCATION – As a former teacher, Derek knows educators are asked to play too many roles. Derek will support teacher’s bargaining and labor rights, fund school lunches, and strengthen pathways to trade schools, colleges, and the next generation workforce.
PROTECT UTAH’S OUTDOORS – Derek knows Utah faces challenges with climate change and a drying Great Salt Lake, dry air and threatens our health and strong tourism economy. Derek will protect our lands and seven canyons while enforcing strong pollution standards to keep our communities healthy.
